Another 七五三 (Shichi-go-san) photoshoot! The age-5 celebration is just for boys, and it’s often the first time they wear a 袴 (Hakama), a traditional pleated skirt like garment worn over a kimono, commonly used in formal ceremonies and martial arts. It symbolizes stepping into boyhood.

This little guy is one of the most photogenic kids I know, it’s hard to take a bad picture when all he does is smile!🙂
